Fence projects interact with property lines, utility locates, and municipal zoning: call 811 before any digging, verify your boundary with a plat or survey, and check local height and setback rules — fences on the wrong side of a survey line get rebuilt at the builder's expense.

Post depth and concrete math assumes typical soils; sandy, rocky, or high-wind sites need adjustments that a local contractor or your building department can confirm.

We implement well-known, publicly documented formulas (see the methodology section on each calculator page and ASTA/ASCE wind-load practice and manufacturer spacing charts as applicable). Even correctly implemented formulas produce estimates that depend on your inputs and assumptions. Real-world outcomes vary. Do not rely on a single web tool for a consequential decision.
